Judge Keith Baldwin

I first judge Pyrenean Mountain Dogs in breed classes at Gainsborough & DCC in 1998, so it has taken 20 years to award my first set of Challenge Certificate to this breed. I thank the committee of North Of England Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club for this highly honoured appointment, also most importantly the exhibitor for their lovely dogs for me to assess today, my appreciation for keeping the show running smoothly is to my able steward Ms Marion Sargent. I enjoyed my day, thank you. 
VD (2) Both dogs present today that I have admired from ringside over the years. 1 Pollard's, Ch Gillandant Rockafella JW SH CM, 9 years young, strong head of good length and depth, dark almond shaped eyes, scissor bite, strong neck of good length into straight back, broad loin, tail well carried, front legs viewed straight with strong bone and compact feet, medium angulated stifle with good hocks, moved steady with good rear action. Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran in Show. 2 Baverstock's, Ch Ir Ch Kalkasi In High Spirits JW SH CM CW14, 9 years young, taller than winner, strong masculine head of good length with gentle sloping stop, scissor bite with worn teeth, strong neck fitting well into his body, back broad and firm with ribs very deep past elbow, front legs viewed straight stood, good underline to rear quarters that has medium angulated stifles and hocks, full tail well carried, moved out steady but seemed to favour his left front leg.
MPD(4,2a) 1 Grady's, Kakasi As Cool As I Am, 6 months old, tall boy, long head with dark eyes, good mouth and dentition, well angulated front and rear, lacks chest and body substance, this should come, well ribbed but sway back from withers to croup, moves free. 2 Woodward's, Lisjovia Galactica, 6 months old, small than winner, dark eyes and scissor bite, nice coat, reluctant to move just so overwhelmed today. Just need time. 
PD (4,2a) 1 Bowker & Gibson's, Febus Monreco (Ai), 9 1/2 months old, long head and dark eyes, good size and shape at this age, but I cannot believe how bad his front assembly is, all loose and flapping pasterns, no forechest so if that develops things may improve. I hope. Best Puppy Dog. 2 Grady's, Kakasi As Cool As I Am, Repeat Minor Puppy. 
JD (1) 1 Edwards, Shanlimore Lorenzo, 16 months old, nice looking boy and shape, has a lot of potential for the future, head of good length with minimal stop and well filled in below the eyes, scissor bite with light mouth pigment, almond shape dark eyes, neck fairly short into back of good length, well ribbed and deep to elbow, front legs viewed straight with medium bone, moved wanting to bite something on the move, which throws his front off. 
GD (3) 1 Edwards, Shanlimore Lorenzo, Repeat Junior. 2 Dickson's, Kalkasi Fields Of Gold, 18 months old, good size and masculine build, head of good length and well filled below the eyes, minimum stop, scissor bite, dark eyes that are almond shape, strong short neck fitting well into his body, tail well plumed and carried, front legs are narrow stood with pasterns that need to strengthen, on the move his front needs to be more positive, nice and even drive from the rear. shown well. 3 Cubello's, Night Owl. 
PGD(6) 1 Thorne's, Kricarno Konstellation At Pyrajay Sh CM, 2 and and a half years old, handsome boy just prefer more bone for me, masculine head of good proportions with stop sloping gently, well filled in below the eyes which are dark brown and almond shaped, nice body shape and tail well carried, front legs viewed straight with medium bone and good feet, stifle of medium angulation, good free mover. 2 Dickson's, Kalkasi Fields Of Gold, Repeat Graduate. 3 Stratton - Baldwin's, Kricarno Kinetic. 
LD (3) 1 Holmes, Lisjovia Estevez JW SH CM, 2 years old, powerful and imposing dog with strong masculine head of good length and depth, well filled in below the eyes which are dark brown and almond shaped, pincer bite with dark pigmentation, strong neck fitting well into his shoulders, back of good length, muscular and straight, nice over croup and tail well carried, front legs viewed straight with strong bone, good feet and pasterns, muscular rear quarters with medium angulation delivering drive, shown to advantage, my Dog CC and Reserve Best in Show. 2 Baverstock's, Kalkasi Expect Only The Best, 2 1/2 years old, lovely type, harmonious shape, balance and sound, long V shaped head, dark brown almond shaped eyes, bordered by black pigment as was his mouth, scissor bite, strong neck into firm body, front legs viewed straight stood with medium bone, good course textured top coat well groomed, strong muscled rear quarters, moved free and even, Reserve CC. 3 Flounders, Gillandant Spirit Of Xmas At Lakamoni. 
OD (4,1) 1 Nagrecha's, CH Viskalys My Way Or No Way To Chandlimore, 4 years old, good breed type, medium strength through-out, harmonious shape that is over groomed for me, medium length head, dark brown almond shaped eyes, bordered by black pigment, scissor bite, strong neck into firm body, front legs viewed straight stood with ample bone, strongly muscled rear quarters, moved unhurried and well presented. 2 Reilly's, Lisjovia, Boris Bear At Darmaror JW Sh CM, 2 years old boy of good size, masculine head of good length and deep through below his eyes, minimum stop, dark pigment mouth and good bite, strong neck into his muscular body with back straight but looks long with him being out of coat, front legs viewed straight with compact feet, steady mover well shown. 3 Tadd's, CH Jacko Du Haras De Chante - Neigh Avec Kricarno. 
MPB (8) 1 Bromley's, Jumicar Valentino, 8 months old, good size and overall shape, feminine head with dark eyes, good mouth and dentition, body substance will come, well ribbed back with good loin and croup, well angulated front and rear quarters moves free and even, one to watch in the future. 2 Goodwin's, Lisjovia Adagio, 6 months old confident baby obviously smaller than winner, lovely feminine head with dark eyes, good mouth and dentition, well angulated front and rear, nice body well ribbed with good loin and croup, moved steady and free. 3 Holmes, Lisjovia Ottaviani. 
PB (5) 1 Downes, Febus Fleurac, 9 and a half months old, this was my find of the day, just stunning with harmonious body shape in profile, then on the move she was foot perfect and took my breath away, I have no need to give a full critique as this young lady has it all. I will just add that in 22 years of awarding Challenge Certificate this is the very first time that I have awarded it to a puppy. Bitch CC Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show. 2 arrett and Hayes, Febus Jumilhac, 9 1/2 months old, loved this one also and can now see that she is the litter sister to the winner, I could not get past her big round eyes which are dark brown in colour, pretty feminine head of good length with minimum stop, scissor bite, she stood well with front legs straight, ample bone and compact feet, balanced rear angulation, she makes a nice overall shape in profile, free mover, should have a bright future, one to watch. 3 Tadd's, Kricarno Katchmeifyoucan. 
JB (5) 1 Edwards, Shanlimore Raffaella, 16 months old, feminine head that is well filled in below the eyes, which are almond in shape and of dark brown colour, scissor bite, strong neck to support her head fitting well into her body which is of good length although I would prefer her not dipping in the middle between withers and rump, nice over croup to well plumed tail, front legs straight with ample bone, muscular and strong rear quarters, positive free mover. 2 Garrett and Hayes, Febus Jumilhac. Repeat Puppy. 3 Bowker and Gibson's, Sajobein Gastons Girl Avec Febus. 
MAIDEN BITCH (1) 1 Baverstock's, Kalkasi Super Cool, 6 months old raw baby that ended up in 5 classes, she was not happy, drops head and protested going around the ring. Given time she will do well.

UGB (3) 1 Downes, Febus Fleurac, Repeat Puppy. 2 Bowker and Gibson's, Sajobein Gastons Girl Avec Febus. 16 months old, tall with light build she needs time to grow into herself, pretty feminine head of good length minimum stop, scissor bite, stood with front legs narrow and nearly straight should improve when chest drops and develops, medium bone and feet a touch open, medium rear angulation, in between coats today, weak pasterns on the move, shown well. 3 Baverstock's, Kalkasi Super Cool. 
GB (3) 1 Wilcock's, Penellcy Maid Of Honour, 6 years old, strong head of good length and depth, dark eyes with sad look, scissor bite, strong neck of medium length into straight back, broad loin, tail well carried, big coat, front legs viewed straight with strong bone, medium angulated stifle with good hocks, move wide and stabbing out coming towards me, good rear action. Strong mature lady. 2 Bowker and Gibson's, Sajobein Gastons Girl Avec Febus. Repeat Undergraduate. 3 Kennedy's, Shuangxi Mopsa Kai En Hui At Pyrcot.

LB (4,1a) 1 Flounders, Sketrick Papagena At Lakamoni ( Ai ) 22 months old, nice feminine head, eyes of correct shape dark brown colour, scissor bite , short neck into well laid shoulders, nice spring of rib, length of back good and level, she makes a lovely shape in profile, well muscled rear but she is cow hocked which also showed on the move, well presented. 2 Holmes, Lisjovia Emilio, 2 years old, head feminine of good length well filled in below her eyes which are dark in colour but give a sad expression, scissor bite, neck of good length fitting clean into her shoulders, back of good length, straight and rising slightly over croup, lean loin, front legs parallel stood but she stands wide which cost her, good rear quarters but she also moved a touch close behind, well presented. 3 Bamford's, Lisjovia Keep The Faith For Pafaxen. 
OB (7,2a) 1 Pollard's, Gillandant Xmas Spice, 2 1/2 years old, feminine head with obliquely set dark eyes, scissor bite with dark pigmented mouth, short neck, well angled and muscled shoulders, nice spring of rib, length of back good and level with gentle slope to well set tail, well muscled rear quarters, lovely coat and finished off with free and easy movement, well presented. Reserve CC. 2 Baverstock's, Kalkasi Moonlite Mist, 3 years old, strong yet feminine head of good length and depth, strong neck of good length fitting well into her body, back broad and firm with ribs deep, front legs viewed straight with strong pastern, ample bone and compact feet, good underline to rear quarters that has medium angulated stifle and hock, shown well, moved out steady and free. 3 CH Belshanmish Pretty In Pink At Pyrajay SHCM
